How to Survive the Bridal Show Craziness!

Bridal shows are a GREAT way to gather a ton of information about planning a wedding. There are vendors from every wedding business you could think of, and some that you may have forgotten. Before you head into the chaos that is a Bridal Show, here are some fun tips for how to survive the madness!

Tip #1:  Bring a friend! I highly recommend bringing along your maid of honor. There is going to be a ton of information to gather, and what a great way to spend some time with your best friend. Heck, bring along several friends and make a day of it! Mothers also enjoy going!

Tip #2:  Most vendors offer specials! A bridal show is a great way to save a little bit of money. Be sure to ask if they are offering any discounts. Also, if you aren't positive you want to book right away, ask them if they will honor the special if you schedule a consultation with them.

Tip #3: Schedule consultations! You are going to be bombarded with information. It's going to feel like everyone is trying to get you to sign a contract right now. Don't feel like you have to! If you need time to think, then schedule a consultation with them. Meet with them outside the chaos of the bridal show. It's a great opportunity to come up with additional questions for them. But PLEASE remember to cancel your consultation appointment if you decide not to attend. Your vendors will have a lot of meetings following the show, and it sucks for us to go sit and wait if you aren't going to come.

Tip #4: Relax! Yes, there are 80-some vendors to visit! It is going to feel overwhelming. Remember, this is fun!

Tip #5: Try samples! Okay, this one probably doesn't even need to be on here, as I am sure you would NEVER pass up a chance to try some amazing samples. There will be sweet treats, and delicious food. Try it all! (Even vendors like to walk around and try out some of the samples..heehee).

Tip #6: Bring along stickers with your information on it. What information should you include? Your first and last name, email address, phone number and wedding date! Most (if not all) vendors will have giveaways at their booth. Instead of having to hand-write your information 80 times, you can just stick your sticker to their form and you're all set. Its easier for you, and its easier for your vendors to read.

Tip #7: If the option is available, pre-register for the bridal show. Typically there are door prizes given away throughout the show. Pre-registering saves you from having to fill out a form at the entrance to the show.

We will be at the Lansing Bridal Show on September 20, 2015. It is being held at The Lansing Center in downtown Lansing from noon to 6. There's a TON of doorprize giveaways and a fashion show! Seriously...I personally LOVE to watch the fashion show! It's awesome, and the guys ALWAYS know how to rock the tuxedos!
